Setting/Making Dial-Up
Connections
Windows XP:
1.Click
the Start button.
2.Select the Control
Panel menu option.
3.Click on Internet
and Network Connection.
4.Click on Make or
Change Internet Connection.
5.Click Setup.
6.Click the Next
button (The first screen is a lot of information)
7.Set up your
connection manually – NOT from a list of ISPs.
8.Click the Next
button.
Windows 2000 & ME :
1.Click the Start
button.
2.Click the Settings
option.
3.Click Dial-Up
Networking or Network and Dial-up Connections,
depending on the version.
4.Double-click Make
New Connection.
5.Make sure the
computer you are dialing is RGV.
6.Click the Next
button.
7.Enter the phone
number as 463-1118
(Lexington).
8.Click the Next
button.
9.Click the Finish
button.
10.Right-click on the
RGV connection you just created.
11.Click the Create
Shortcut option.
12.Click the Yes
button on the dialog.
13.Exit out of Dial-Up
Networking. The shortcut appears on your desktop.
Windows 95 and 98 :
1.
Double-click My Computer.
2.
Double-click Networking.
3.
Double-click Make New Connection.
4.
Make sure the computer you are dialing is RGV.
5.
Click the Next button.
6.
Enter the phone number as 463-1118
(Lexington).
7.
Click the Next button.
8.
Click the Finish button.
9.
Right-click on the RGV connection you just created.
10.
Click the Create Shortcut option.
11.
Click the Yes button on the dialog.
12.
Exit out of Dial-Up Networking. The shortcut
appears on your desktop.
